    Exodus 10

    22 ...there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days;
    23 they saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days; but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
    24 And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said: 'Go ye, serve the ETERNAL; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed; let your little ones also go with you.'
    25 And Moses said: 'Thou must also give into our hand sacrifices and burnt-offerings, that we may sacrifice unto ETERNAL CREATOR.
    26 Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not a hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve ETERNAL CREATOR; and we know not with what we must serve ETERNAL, until we come thither.'
    27 But ETERNAL hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let them go.
    28 And Pharaoh said unto him: 'Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in the day thou seest my face thou shalt die.'
    29 And Moses said: 'Thou hast spoken well; I will a see thy face again no more.'

    Exodus 11

    1 And ETERNAL said unto Moses: 'Yet one plague more will I bring upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence; when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether.
    2 Speak now in the ears of the people, and let them ask every man of his neighbor, and every woman of her neighbor, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold.'
    3 And ETERNAL gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants, and in the sight of the people.
    4 And Moses said: 'Thus saith ETERNAL: About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt;
    5 and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of cattle.
    6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there hath been none like it, nor shall be like it any more.
    7 But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog whet his tongue, against man or beast; that ye may know how that ETERNAL doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.
    8 And all these thy servants shall come down unto me, and bow down unto me, saying: Get thee out, and all the people that follow thee; and after that I will go out.' And he went out from Pharaoh in hot anger.
    9 And ETERNAL said unto Moses: 'Pharaoh will not hearken unto you; that My wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt:'
    10 And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh; and ETERNAL hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not let the children of Israel go out of his land.

    Exodus 12

    1 And ETERNAL spoke unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying:
    2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you.
    3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying: In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to their fathers' houses, a lamb for a household;
    4 and if the household be too little for a lamb, then shall he and his neighbor next unto his house take one according to the number of the souls; according to every man's eating ye shall make your count for the lamb.
    5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year; ye shall take it from the sheep, or from the goats;
    6 and ye shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month; and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at dusk.
    7 And they shall take of the blood, and put it on the two side-posts and on the lintel, upon the houses wherein they shall eat it.
    8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
    9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; its head with its legs and with the inwards thereof.
    10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; but that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.
    11 And thus shall ye eat it: with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste--it is ETERNAL's Passover.
    12 For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night [14th], and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am ETERNAL.
    13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and there shall no plague be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
    14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial, and ye shall keep it a feast to the ETERNAL; throughout your generations ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
    15 Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; howbeit the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses; for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
    16 And in the first day there shall be to you a holy convocation, and in the seventh day a holy convocation; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done by you.
    17 And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this self same day have I brought your hosts out of the land of Egypt; therefore shall ye observe this day throughout your generations by an ordinance for ever.
    18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.
    19 Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses; for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a sojourner, or one that is born in the land.
    20 Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.
    21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them: 'Draw out, and take you lambs according to your families, and kill the Passover lamb.
    22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side-posts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning.
    23 For ETERNAL will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when He seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side-posts, ETERNAL will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.
    24 And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.
    25 And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which ETERNAL will give you, according as He hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.
    26 And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you: What mean ye by this service?
    27 that ye shall say: It is the sacrifice of ETERNAL's Passover, for that He passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when He smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses.' And the people bowed the head and worshipped.
    28 And the children of Israel went and did so; as ETERNAL had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.
    29 And it came to pass at midnight, that ETERNAL smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.
    30 And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
    31 And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said: 'Rise up, get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve ETERNAL, as ye have said.
    32 Take both your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and he gone; and bless me also.'
    33 And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, to send them out of the land in haste; for they said: 'We are all dead men.'
    34 And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneading-troughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders.
    35 And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they asked of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment.
    36 And ETERNAL gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they let them have what they asked. And they despoiled the Egyptians.
    37 And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, beside children.
    38 And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.
    39 And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Egypt, for it was not leavened; because they were thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for themselves any victual.
    40 Now the time that the children of Israel dwelt in Egypt was four hundred and thirty

    Exodus 13

    1 And ETERNAL spoke unto Moses, saying:
    2 Sanctify unto Me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast, it is Mine.'
    3 And Moses said unto the people: 'Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand ETERNAL brought you out from this place; there shall no leavened bread be eaten.
    This day ye go forth in the month Abib.
    5 And it shall be when ETERNAL shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, which He swore unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.
    6 Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to ETERNAL.
    7 Unleavened bread shall be eaten throughout the seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee, in all thy borders.
    8 And thou shalt tell thy son in that day, saying: It is because of that which ETERNAL did for me when I came forth out of Egypt.
    9 And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thy hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the law of ETERNAL may be in thy mouth; for with a strong hand hath ETERNAL brought thee out of Egypt.
    10 Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in its season from year to year.
    11 And it shall be when ETERNAL shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanite, as He swore unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee,
    12 that thou shalt set apart unto ETERNAL all that openeth the womb; every firstling that is a male, which thou hast coming of a beast, shall be ETERNAL's.
    13 And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it. Then thou shalt break its neck; and all the firstborn of man among thy sons shalt thou redeem.
    14 And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying: What is this? That thou shalt say unto him: By strength of hand ETERNAL brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage;
    15 and it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that ETERNAL slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast; therefore I sacrifice to ETERNAL all that openeth the womb, being males; but all the firstborn of my sons I redeem.
    16 And it shall be for a sign upon thy hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes; for by strength of hand ETERNAL brought us forth out of Egypt.'
    17 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that CREATOR led them not by the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for CREATOR said: 'Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt.'
    18 But CREATOR led the people about, by the way of the wilderness by the Red Sea; and the children of Israel went up armed out of the land of Egypt.
    19 And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him; for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying: 'CREATOR will surely remember you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.'
    20 And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness.
    21 And ETERNAL went before them by day in a pillar of cloud, to lead them the way; and by. Night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; that they might go by day and by night:
    22 the pillar of cloud by day, and the pillar of fire by night, departed not from before the people.

    Exodus 34

    1 And ETERNAL said unto Moses: 'Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first; and I will write upon the tables the words that were on the first tables, which thou didst break.
    2 And be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and present thyself there to Me on the top of the mount.
    3 And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount.'
    4 And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as ETERNAL had commanded him, and took in his hand two tables of stone.
    5 And ETERNAL descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed he name of ETERNAL.
    6 And ETERNAL passed by before him, and proclaiming: 'ETERNAL, ETERNAL CREATOR, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth;
    7 keeping mercy unto the thousandth generation, forgiving iniquity and ;transgression and sin; and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and unto the fourth generation.'
    8 And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped. 'And he said: 'If now I have found grace in Thy sight, 0 ETERNAL let ETERNAL, I pray Thee, go in the midst of us; for it is a stiff-necked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for Thine inheritance.'
    9 And He said: 'Behold, I make a covenant; before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been wrought in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of ETERNAL that I am about to do with thee, that it is tremendous.
    11 Observe thou that which I am commanding thee this day; behold, I am driving out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.
    12 Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest they be for a snare in the midst of thee.
    13 But ye shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and ye shall cut down their Asherim.
    14 For thou shalt bow down to no other god; for ETERNAL, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous CREATOR;
    15 lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go astray after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and they call thee, and thou eat of their sacrifice;
    16 and thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go astray after their gods, and make thy sons go astray after their gods.
    17 Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.
    18 The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, at the time appointed in the month Abib, for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt.
    19 All that openeth the womb is Mine; and of all thy cattle thou shalt sanctify the males, the firstlings of ox and sheep.
    20 And the firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break its neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before Me empty.
    21 Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest; in plowing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.
    22 And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, even of the first-fruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the turn of the year.
    23 Three times in the year shall all thy males appear before ETERNAL CREATOR, the CREATOR of Israel.
    24 For I will cast out nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders; neither shall any man covet thy land, when thou goest up to appear before ETERNAL CREATOR three times in the year.
    25 Thou shaft not offer the blood of My sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the Passover be left unto the morning.
    26 The choicest first-fruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of ETERNAL CREATOR. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in its mother's milk.'
    27 And ETERNAL said unto Moses: 'Write thou these words, for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.'
    28 And he was there with ETERNAL forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten words.
    29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of the testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses knew not that the skin of his face sent forth beams while He talked with him.
    30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face sent forth beams; and they were afraid to come nigh him.
    31 And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him; and Moses spoke to them.
    32 And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh, and he gave them in commandment all that ETERNAL had spoken with him in mount Sinai.
    33 And when Moses had done speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.
    34 But when Moses went in before ETERNAL that He might speak with him, he took the veil off, until he came out; and he came out, and spoke unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded.
    35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face sent forth beams; and Moses put the veil back upon his face, until he went in to speak with Him

    Leviticus 23:1-9

    1 And ETERNAL spoke unto Moses, saying:
    2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them: The appointed seasons of ETERNAL, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are My appointed seasons.
    3 Six days shall work be done; but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation; ye shall do no manner of work; it is a Sabbath unto ETERNAL in all your dwellings.
    4 These are the appointed seasons of ETERNAL, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their appointed season.
    5 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at dusk, is ETERNAL's Passover.
    6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto ETERNAL; seven days ye shall eat unleavened bread.
    7 1n the first day ye shall have a holy convocation; ye shall do no manner of servile work.
    8 And ye shall bring an offering made by fire unto ETERNAL seven days; in the seventh day is a holy convocation; ye shall do no manner of servile work.
    9 And ETERNAL spoke unto Moses, saying:
    10 'Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them:
    When ye are come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring the sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest unto the priest.
    11 And he shall wave the sheaf before ETERNAL, to b accepted for you; on the morrow after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it.
    12 And in the day when you wave the sheaf, ye shall offer a he lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt-offering unto ETERNAL.
    13 And the meal-offering there of shall be two tenth parts of an ephah of fine flour mingled with oil an offering made by fire unto ETERNAL for a sweet savor; and the drink-offering thereof shall be of wine the fourth part of a hin.
    14 And ye shall eat neither bread, nor parched corn, nor fresh ears, until this selfsame day, until ye have brought the offering of your CREATOR; it is a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
    15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the day (a=day of rest) of rest from the day that ye brought tin sheaf of the waving; seven weeks shall there be complete;
    16 even unto the morrow after the seventh week shall ye number fifty days; and you shall present a new meal-offering unto ETERNAL.
    17 Ye shall bring out of your dwellings two wave loaves of two tenth parts of an ephah; they shall be of fine flour, they shall in baked with leaven, for first-fruit unto ETERNAL.
    18 And ye shall present with the bread seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and on young bullock, and two rams; they shall be a burnt-offering unto ETERNAL, with their meal-offering, and their drink-offerings, even an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto ETERNAL.
    19 And ye shall offer one he-goat for a sin-offering, and two he-lambs of the first year for sacrifice of peace-offerings.
    20 And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the first fruit as a wave-offering before ETERNAL, with the two lambs; they shall be holy to ETERNAL for the priest.
    21 And ye shall make proclamation on the selfsame day; there shall be a holy convocation unto you; ye shall do no manner of servile work; it is a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

    1 These are the stages of the children of Israel, by which they went forth out of the land of Egypt by their hosts under the hand of Moses and Aaron.
    2 And Moses wrote their goings forth, stage by stage, by the commandment of ETERNAL; and these are their stages at their goings forth.
    3 And they journeyed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow [H4283] after the passover the children of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians,
    4 while the Egyptians were burying [their dead].

    Deuteronomy 16:1-12

    1 Observe the month of Abib, and keep the Passover unto ETERNAL thy CREATOR; for in the month of Abib ETERNAL CREATOR brought thee forth out of Egypt by night.
    2 And thou shalt sacrifice the Passover-offering unto ETERNAL CREATOR, of the flock and the herd, in the place which ETERNAL shall choose to cause His name to dwell there.
    3 Thou shalt eat no leavened bread with it; seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread therewith, even the bread of affliction; for in haste didst thou come forth out of the land of Egypt; that thou mayest remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life.
    4 And there shall be no leaven seen with thee in all thy borders seven days; neither shall any of the flesh, which thou sacrificest the first day at even, remain all night until the morning.
    5 Thou mayest not sacrifice the Passover-offering within any of thy gates, which ETERNAL CREATOR giveth thee;
    6 but at the place which ETERNAL CREATOR shall choose to cause His name to dwell in, there thou shalt sacrifice the Passover-offering at even, at the going down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of Egypt.
    7 And thou shalt roast and eat it in the place which ETERNAL CREATOR shall choose; and thou shalt turn in the morning, and go .unto thy tents.
    8 Six days thou shalt eat unleavened bread; and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to ETERNAL CREATOR thou shalt do no work therein.
    9 Seven weeks shalt thou number unto thee; from the time the sickle is first put to the standing corn shalt thou begin to number seven weeks.
    10 And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto ETERNAL CREATOR after the measure of the freewill-offering of thy hand, which thou shalt give, according as ETERNAL CREATOR blesseth thee.
    11 And thou shalt rejoice before ETERNAL CREATOR, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are in the midst of thee, in the place which ETERNAL CREATOR shall choose to cause His name to dwell there.
    12 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt; and thou shalt observe and do these things
