The Two-fold Aspect of the Promises to Abraham

Chapter 13 - There is a Way to Escape the Coming Horrors.
Millions of people have been mislead, tricked into following a false religion and drawing other people into that same whirlpool of despair. Are you one of the DECEIVED? Remember, that a person who is deceived does not know that he is deceived. To be sure take the test, see our article "The Test."
The ETERNAL, the CREATOR of the Universe, who we have the very great honor and privilege to serve, wants us to get this shocking news into your hands--WHILE THERE IS JUST ENOUGH TIME TO CHANGE! It is probally too late for our nations to change but you as an individual may still have just enough time.
When Abraham was called out from Ur of the Chaldeans, (Gen 15:7) the Chaldeans were the most advanced people of the time. They understood mathematics and had a very advanced system of irrigation. Abraham was called out of the "best of the world's system" to accept a Covenant with the CREATOR of the Universe in a desert place, requiring him to totally rely on The Mighty One of Israel. You are now being called out of the "world's system" to a state of total reliance on the ETERNAL.
The prophets of the Tanakh spoke for their times and for us in these LAST DAYS. The prophecies are detailed, explicit, and very frightening--they are also the stuff of TODAY'S NEWS HEADLINES!
When you see the pictures of "Ground Zero," where the World Trade Center once stood you can relate to Ezekiel 6:6 "In all your dwelling places the CITIES shall be laid waste". The scare and reality of biological warfare on our people is spelled out:
Ezek 5:12-13 (Tanakh) "One-third of you shall die of pestilence or perish in your midst by famine, one-third shall fall by the sword around you, and I will scatter one-third in every direction and will unsheathe the sword after them. I will vent all My anger and satisfy My fury upon them; and when I vent all My fury upon them, they shall know that I, YHWH, have spoken in My passion.
WE NEED TO UNDERSTAND THAT ETERNAL WANTS US BACK. HE is calling on us to repent, change our ways, and return to HIS ways. If you have been caught up in some pagan beliefs, worshipping the wrong 'god,' on the wrong day, for the wrong reasons YOU need to change! The ETERNAL spells out through Isaiah how HE works:
Isa 19:22 (Tanakh) "ETERNAL will first afflict and then heal the Egyptians; when they turn back to YHWH, HE will respond to their entreaties and heal them."
The ETERNAL knows that, having seen us in the good times when we completely ignored HIM thinking that our cleverness was being rewarded, HE will only get our attention in the most dramatic circumstances. HE allows events to happen, wanting more than anything else that it will cause you to come back to HIM. HE does not change--but YOU NEED TO!
If you are keeping HIS Commandments (ALL OF THEM) and are in repentance ETERNAL wants you to remind HIM of HIS promises.
Isa 43:25-26 (Tanakh) "It is I, I who--for My own sake--wipe your transgressions away and remember your sins no more. Help Me remember! Let us join in argument, tell your version, that you may be vindicated."
The ETERNAL wants you forgiven--even more than you do yourself! If you are now in obedience, remind the ETERNAL of HIS promises because they do include you.
Ezek 18:21-23 (Tanakh) "Be assured, O House of Israel, I will judge each one of you according to his ways - declares ETERNAL. Repent and turn back from your transgressions; let them not be a stumbling block of guilt for you. Cast away all the transgressions by which you have offended, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit, that you may not die, O House of Israel. For it is not MY desire that anyone shall die - declares ETERNAL. Repent, therefore and live!"
Ezek 18:21-23 (Tanakh) "Moreover, if the wicked one repents of all the sins that he committed and keeps all MY laws and does what is just and right, he shall live; he shall not die. None of the transgressions he committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness he has practiced, he shall live. Is it MY desire that a wicked person shall die? Says the ETERNAL. It is rather that he shall turn back from his ways and live."
Truth or Consequences!
Deuteronomy 28:58-67 (Tanakh) "If you fail to observe faithfully all the terms of this Teaching that are written in this book, to reverence this honored and awesome Name,
, the ETERNAL, the CREATOR will inflict extraordinary plagues upon you and your offspring, strange and lasting plagues, malignant and chronic diseases. HE will bring back upon you all the sicknesses of Egypt that you dreaded so, and they shall cling to you."
Vs 61: Moreover, ETERNAL will bring upon you all the other diseases and plagues that are not mentioned in this book of Teaching, until you are wiped out. You shall be left a scant few, after having been as numerous as the stars in the skies, because you did not heed the Command of ETERNAL your CREATOR.
Vs 63:And, as ETERNAL once delighted in making you prosperous and many, now will the ETERNAL delight in causing you to perish and in wiping you out; you shall be torn from the land that you are about to enter and possess. The ETERNAL will scatter you among all the peoples from one end of the earth to the other, and there you shall serve other 'gods,' wood and stone, whom neither you nor your ancestors have experienced.
Vs 65:Yet even among those nations you shall find no peace, nor shall your foot find a place to rest. The ETERNAL will give you there an anguished heart and eyes that pine and a despondent spirit. The life you face shall be precarious; you shall be in terror, night and day, with no assurance of survival. In the morning you shall say, 'If only it were evening!' and in the evening you shall say, 'If only it were morning!' - because of what your heart shall dread and you eyes shall see."
This passage (from the JPS Tanakh 1999) describes the life of many people reading this booklet--and of the people they know. There are many and more diseases about than ever before. Diseases once thought to have been eradicated have reappeared more virulent than ever. Our prosperity and our national self-confidence have been taken away. We look for answers in other places, other religions, and other people but instead we find deception!
We are anxious! We are tense, we are paranoid. We pop pills, we smoke, we drink, but the answers escape us. Is it because the answer is so simple--and we are a very difficult people? The ETERNAL gives you the answer but it is up to you to accept it. Your whole future depends on the next decision you make!
Deut 30:1-10 (Tanakh) "When all these things befall you - the blessing and the curses that I have set before you - and you take them to heart amidst the various nations to which the ETERNAL has banished you, and you return to the ETERNAL, and you and your children heed HIS command with all your heart and soul, just as I enjoin upon you this day, then the ETERNAL your CREATOR will restore your fortunes and take you back in love. HE will bring you together again from all the peoples where the ETERNAL has scattered you.
Vs 4: Even if your outcasts are at the ends of the world, from there the ETERNAL will gather you, from there HE will fetch you. And the ETERNAL will bring you to the land that your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; and HE will make you more prosperous and more numerous than your fathers.
Vs 6:Then the ETERNAL your SOVEREIGN will open up your heart and the hearts of your offspring to love the ETERNAL with all your heart and soul in order that you may live. The ETERNAL will inflict all those curses upon the enemies and foes who persecuted you. You, however, will again heed the ETERNAL and obey all HIS Commandments, which I enjoin upon you this day. And the ETERNAL will grant you abounding prosperity in all your undertakings, in the issue of your womb, the offspring of your cattle and the produce of your soil. For the ETERNAL will again delight in your well-being, as HE did in that of your fathers, since you will be heeding the ETERNAL and keeping HIS Commandments and laws that are recorded in this book of the Teaching - once you return to the ETERNAL with all your heart and soul.
We have seen the reason why, of Israel and Judah having deserted the CREATOR--The Mighty One of Israel and the Jews-- and not following His written Words exclusively.
The choice is yours now--it is almost too simple! Be obedient to the Teachings of the ETERNAL and live a blessed life with, happiness and great joy beyond description! Continue in disobedience and BE LOST IN TRAGIC CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND IMAGINATION!
The decision is now YOURS! Use wisdom in your actions.
