    The Test

Transcription of a sermon tape by Charles J. Voss.

This sermon is based on a tape titled "Holy Anointing Oil" from the city of Hebron in Israel. I would have sent you a copy of the copy that I have, except that is too scratchy and when duplicated it loses even more clarity. In addition it also it has a Jewish flavor. It is not stated who the narrator was or what organization originally sent it out.

In Exodus chapter 25 ETERNAL instructed Moses to take an offering, of the children of Israel according as every man's heart would incline him to give. This offering was to be for the construction of the Tabernacle, its furniture, its vessels, and its service. At that time ETERNAL informed Moses that the sole reason for the construction of the Tabernacle was so that He, the CREATOR of Heaven and earth, wished to dwell among His chosen people.

He, ETERNAL CREATOR of the children of Israel, made it perfectly clear that He desired to dwell among His people, the children of Israel. His exact words were:
Exodus 25:8 "And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them"

He repeated the statement in Exodus 29:45: "I will dwell among the children of Israel and will be their Elohim (el-o-heem'). Elohim can be translated as Almighty CREATOR, the Mighty One, Deity, or Holy One.

Note what is stated in Psalms:
Psalms 89:18 "For ETERNAL is our Defense; and the Holy One of Israel is our King"

In the wilderness the glory of ETERNAL appeared to the children of Israel in the form of a pillar of a cloud by day and it was a pillar of fire by night (Ex. 13:21-22). This pillar of cloud or fire represented the very presence of ETERNAL among His people. For it is stated:
Exodus 14:4 "And it came to pass that in the morning watch ETERNAL looked into the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud and troubled the host of the Egyptians"

Thus we can understand from the above statement in the Torah, that ETERNAL was not residing in His normal place of residence in the heavens, nor was He residing at Mount Sinai, the place where He called Moses into His service. The ETERNAL was busy continually occupied in protecting, leading, providing for, and fighting the battles of His chosen people as a true King should.

When the children of Israel finally came to Mount Sinai it is again recorded that the glory of ETERNAL abode upon the mount:
Exodus 24:16 "Now the glory of ETERNAL rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud"
(YHWH - Yod He Waw He, Name in modern Hebrew and Name in ancient Paleo Hebrew and can be translated ETERNAL)

Backing up a few verses ETERNAL stated to Moses:
Exodus 24:12 "Come up to Me on the mountain and be there; and I will give you tablets of stone, and the Law and Commandments which I have written, that you may teach them"

It was on this very same mountain that Moses had first encountered the CREATOR's Presence when ETERNAL had called to him. It was here that Moses was put into ETERNAL's service as the future redeemer of ETERNAL's people out of the slavery of the Egyptian despots, as it is recorded in Exodus 3 and 4. When ETERNAL had first called Moses into His service He had said unto him:
Exodus 3:12 "I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you, when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve CREATOR on this mountain"

ETERNAL was giving Moses the assurance that all would be well and that He would deliver the children of Israel as a nation out of the Egyptian slavery. Furthermore, ETERNAL would bring them to Mount Sinai where they would worship their CREATOR. This prophecy of ETERNAL to Moses was later fulfilled when Moses was called up on the mountain of ETERNAL, after ETERNAL delivered the children of Israel out of Egyptian bondage, just as He had promised. When He first sent Moses on his mission to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, Moses was somewhat lost as to what to say, but ETERNAL comforted him saying:
Exodus 4:11-12 "Who has made man's mouth? Who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, ETERNAL? Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say"

It is recorded in scripture that Moses appeared before the king of Egypt and spoke in the name of the Holy One of the children of Israel asking:
Exodus 5:1 "Thus says ETERNAL CREATOR of Israel: 'Let My people go, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness'"

This statement of Moses to Pharaoh, in the name of ETERNAL, is repeated again and again as ETERNAL speaks to Pharaoh through His servant Moses, as the Mighty One of the Hebrews (e.g. Ex. 7:16; 8:1; 8:20; 9:1). This is again repeated in Exodus 9:13 where ETERNAL calls Himself the "Holy One of the Hebrews" and in Exodus 9:17 ETERNAL calls the Hebrews His "chosen people." Again in chapter 10:3 ETERNAL calls the Hebrews "His people" and commands Pharaoh, the mortal king of the Egypt, to let Israel go that they may serve Him in the wilderness.

So we see from all of the above that ETERNAL calls the Israelites His chosen people. Note this well, it is very important. However, even more than just His chosen people, He calls them His firstborn son. I repeat He calls Israel His firstborn son. Notice ETERNAL tells Moses:
Exodus 4:22-23 "Then you shall say to Pharaoh, 'Thus says ETERNAL: 'Israel is My son, My firstborn. 'So I say to you, let My son go that he may serve Me. But if you refuse to let him go, indeed I will kill your son, your firstborn"'

Therefore, in ETERNAL's own eyes, Israel is His firstborn son. This is a statement of our CREATOR in the Torah. To be the firstborn however, Israel also had to be the first begotten son. For one cannot be born without having been begotten. This is ETERNAL's statement; Israel is His first begotten and His firstborn son.

Either we can accept this statement or we can reject it. Note however, this is a Scriptural statement and a Scriptural fact which is made not by man but by the CREATOR of heaven and earth. Those who love ETERNAL and love His truth will accept this truth as truth.

Remember the reason that ETERNAL told Moses to take an offering of the children of Israel was because He wanted to dwell among them. The Holy One of Israel, the CREATOR of the earth and the unlimited vastness of the heavens, loved His people so much that He the CREATOR of heaven and earth wanted to dwell among His children, among His firstborn. When ETERNAL first called Moses, He gave him the assurance that He, ETERNAL CREATOR of heaven and earth, would be with Moses. He thus indicated that He was going to lead them. He would bring the nation of Israel into the desert and from the desert into the Promised Land. For ETERNAL had told Moses:
Exodus 3:12 "I will certainly be with you"

Later however, when the children of Israel wanted Aaron to make a golden calf, an idol for them, the anger of ETERNAL was kindled against the children of Israel. Note what was said when ETERNAL spoke to Moses:
Exodus 32:7-10 "ETERNAL said to Moses, Go, get down! For your people whom you brought out of the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves. They have turned aside quickly out of the way, which I commanded them. They have made themselves a molded calf, and worshiped it and sacrificed to it, and said, 'This is your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!' And ETERNAL said to Moses, 'I have seen this people, and indeed it is a stiff-necked people! Now therefore, let Me alone, that My wrath may burn hot against them and I may consume them. And I will make of you a great nation'"

Remember ETERNAL repeatedly sent Moses, as His servant and messenger, to the Egyptian king. In these communiqués to Pharaoh ETERNAL referred to the Israelites as His people, as His chosen ones and He stated that He is their Holy One. Note carefully that when these people turned away from Him and made a golden calf, ETERNAL no longer refers to them as His people that He brought up out of the land of Egypt. He had said to Moses "Go, get down! For your people whom you brought out of the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves." Then ETERNAL informs Moses that He is going to destroy the whole nation and start anew with Moses.

Was ETERNAL truly going to destroy the whole nation of the children of Israel or was He testing His servant Moses to see how Moses would respond. If it was a test then Moses passed. Moses reminded ETERNAL that he (Moses) had not brought the children of Israel out of Egyptian bondage but that it had been ETERNAL Himself. Moses rejected outright the statement that the people were no longer ETERNAL's people but were the people of Moses that Moses had brought up out of the land of Egypt.
Exodus 32:11-14 "Then Moses pleaded with ETERNAL CREATOR, and said: 'ETERNAL, why does Your wrath burn hot against Your people whom You have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand? Why should the Egyptians speak, and say, 'He brought them out to harm them, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth'? Turn from Your fierce wrath, and relent from this harm to Your people. Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants, to whom You swore by Your own self, and said to them, 'I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven; and all this land that I have spoken of I give to your descendants, and they shall inherit it forever.' So ETERNAL relented from the harm which He said He would do to His people"

Exodus 32:17 "So ETERNAL said to Moses, "I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name"

Note that in verse seven, ETERNAL no longer wanted to call the people His people. He had rejected them outright and in His wrath He would have completely destroyed the nation and then would have started a new nation with Moses and the offspring of Moses. However, after the intercession of Moses, ETERNAL again calls the people His. But this was not yet the end of the matter.

Moses was very pleased that ETERNAL had agreed not to destroy the people as a whole because of their sin of forsaking ETERNAL and turning to the worship of idols by worshipping the golden calf. Then Moses went down the mountain to see the people and saw what had taken place. At once he took the necessary measures to make a full end of this sin, the sin of idolatry. However, the sad result was that three thousand of the children of Israel found death, at the hands of the Levites, because of this grave sin. Moses ordered the people to consecrate themselves unto ETERNAL and informed them that he would intercede for them before ETERNAL and so Moses returned and went up again into the mountain of ETERNAL.
Exodus 32:31-34 "Then Moses returned to ETERNAL and said, 'Oh, these people have committed a great sin, and have made for themselves a g-d of gold! Yet now, if You will forgive their sin; but if not, I pray, blot me out of Your book, which You have written. And ETERNAL said to Moses, 'Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book. Now therefore, go; lead the people to the place of which I have spoken to you. Behold, My Angel shall go before you. Nevertheless, in the day when I visit for punishment, I will visit punishment upon them for their sin'"

Earlier ETERNAL had given Moses the promise that He would be with Moses to lead him and the whole of the nation of the children of Israel out of the Egyptian bondage into the promised land. Now ETERNAL was informing Moses that from now on, because of the sin with the golden calf, that He, the ETERNAL CREATOR of heaven and earth, and the Holy One of the children of Israel was no longer going to lead them. Instead He was sending His angel before them and furthermore ETERNAL said:
Exodus 33:3 "Go up to a land flowing with milk and honey; for I will not go up in your midst, lest I consume you on the way, for you are a stiff-necked people.' And when the people heard this bad news, they mourned, and no one put on his ornaments"

The people mourned because they knew that ETERNAL is a merciful Being but as for ETERNAL's angel they knew they were not to expect any mercy as ETERNAL Himself had informed them saying:
Exodus 23:20 "Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. Beware of him and obey his voice; do not provoke him, for he will not pardon your transgressions; for My name is in him"

Please note what the text is saying, "take heed of him and hearken to his voice, do not provoke him for he will not pardon your transgressions for My name is in him." Thus we see that ETERNAL informed His servant Moses, that because of the sins of the children of Israel, He is no longer prepared to lead these people. ETERNAL was no longer prepared to walk in their midst. For they had rejected Him as their Holy One and denied Him as their Savior. They had lost faith in Him and forsaken Him even after seeing all the wonders they had encountered in Egypt. Lost faith after witnessing the ETERNAL split the sea into so that each and every one of them could find safety in seeing the total destruction of the Egyptian armies. These armies that ETERNAL brought into the sea to visit their iniquity on them for the murder of all the innocent children that had been drowned in the Nile. Pharaoh had given the orders that had been enforced by the army of Egypt. The children of Israel had seen all the wonders that ETERNAL had wrought for them. Therefore, they should have had faith, faith that ETERNAL would bring Moses, their leader back to them. However, because they did not have faith in ETERNAL and believed that He had forsaken them, ETERNAL informed Moses that instead of Him leading them, He was sending His angel to lead them.

The Hebrew word for angel is mal'ak (mal-awk') which literally means an agent or a messenger. This angel would thus be the agent or the messenger of ETERNAL. Thus, since ETERNAL was sending His angel, this angel would only fulfill His mission, nothing more, and certainly nothing less. According to the very word of ETERNAL Himself, the mission of this angel was threefold.
First of all to go before the Israelites in order to protect them on their journey.
Second, to bring them into the place which ETERNAL had prepared for them. This was Jerusalem upon the mount where the Temple was to be built later, thus The Holy Land.
Third, the children of Israel received the warning that if they would not obey his voice, the angel was not to pardon them for their disobedience; in other words he was to punish them.

Naturally, when the people heard the news that ETERNAL would no longer lead them they went into a state of mourning because they knew that from ETERNAL they could expect mercy but from this angel they would get none. We see from this, that once an angel is sent on a mission, the angel will fulfill this mission to the letter unless commanded otherwise by ETERNAL, it does not divert from the mission from which it has been sent.

This was the case with the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and it was about to be the case in the city of Jerusalem in the days of David, the king of Israel. ETERNAL had sent the angel of destruction because David had ordered the people to be numbered. Seventy thousand men had fallen before King David repented and ETERNAL stopped the angel He had sent to destroy Jerusalem (1 Chron. 21:11-17).

Moses as ETERNAL's servant and the leader of the people wanted ETERNAL to lead the people and certainly not His angel. However, Moses did not argue when ETERNAL was in His anger at the children of Israel. Moses waited until he had made a full end to the sin returned to the mountain:
Exodus 33:12-16 "Then Moses said to ETERNAL, 'See, You say to me, 'Bring up this people.' But You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, 'I know you by name, and you have also found grace in My sight.' Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.' [You had] said, 'My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.' Then [Moses] said to Him, 'If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So we shall be separate, Your people, and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth'"

Moses was pleading with ETERNAL, not to send the angel and that ETERNAL would keep the word that He had first spoken when He had called Moses into His service. ETERNAL had said that He would be with Moses in his mission, which ETERNAL was sending him. So Moses said unless You Yourself, will go up with us let us not move from this place. If You do not want to bring us up, then we do not want to move. We want to be near You and not be separated from You, do not put us under the power of Your angel.
Exodus 33:17 "So ETERNAL said to Moses, 'I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name'"

Concerning this, the Torah states that it was ETERNAL Himself, who led the children of Israel out of the Egyptian bondage into the wilderness and from the wilderness into the Holy Land. Therefore, it is stated in the Torah that He who brought the children of Israel out of the Egyptian bondage led them into the wilderness. He then brought them to His Holy boundary, which is the Holy Land of Israel, right up to the city of Jerusalem where the Temple was built. This is where the children of Israel were commanded to appear before ETERNAL three times a year on the annual festivals. Therefore, it is stated in the Psalms:
Psalms 78:35 "Then they remembered that the CREATOR was their Rock, And the Most High CREATOR their Redeemer"

The children of Israel realized that the very same Being Who had created the universe was the same Holy One Who had redeemed them. He was their Rock, and Who was now leading them into the Holy Land. The psalmist continues in verse fifty-four "And He brought them, that is the children of Israel, to His sacred border."

This sacred boundary is the Holy Land and the city of Jerusalem is the most Holy place on the face of this entire earth, when the Divine presence resides there. It does not reside there at the present but it will again after the Third Temple is built.

Time and again in the words of the Living CREATOR, the Torah, states that the holy ancient ones refer to the CREATOR as being the Rock of Israel. Moses was chosen by ETERNAL to be the redeemer of His people under His guidance and help. This Moses refers to ETERNAL and says of Him:
Deuteronomy 32:4 "He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a Being of truth and without injustice. Righteous and upright is He"

Hannah, the mother of the prophet Samuel, was pouring out her heart over the answer to her prayer for the male child that she had received from ETERNAL prayed saying:
1 Samuel 2:1-2 " heart rejoices in ETERNAL; my horn is exalted in ETERNAL. I smile at my enemies, because I rejoice in Your salvation [that is quite a statement]. No one is holy like ETERNAL, for there is none besides You, nor is there any Rock like our CREATOR"

Hannah claims that beside ETERNAL there is none other-and she was not the only one to make this claim. Moses did when he addressed the whole nation of the children of Israel just shortly before his death. Moses had declared unto the children of Israel saying:
Deuteronomy 4:35 "To you it was shown, that you might know that ETERNAL Himself is CREATOR; there is none other besides Him. Out of heaven He let you hear His voice, that He might instruct you; on earth He showed you His great fire, and you heard His words out of the midst of the fire. And because He loved your fathers, therefore He chose their descendants after them; and He brought you out of Egypt with His Presence, with His mighty power"

I repeat what Moses said, "there is none else beside ETERNAL." David, who was the sweet singer of Israel and beloved of ETERNAL made the statement:
2 Samuel 22:2-3 "ETERNAL is my Rock and my fortress and my deliverer. The Mighty One of my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge; my Savior"

    Isaiah quoting ETERNAL stated:
Isaiah 44:5-6,8 "One will say, 'I am ETERNAL's,' another will call himself by the name of Jacob; another will write with his hand, ETERNAL's, and name himself by the name of Israel. Thus says ETERNAL, the King of Israel and his [Israel's] Redeemer, ETERNAL of hosts: 'I am the First and I am the Last; besides Me there is no Holy One... Do not fear, nor be afraid; have I not told you from that time, and declared it? You are My witnesses. Is there a CREATOR besides Me? Indeed there is no other Rock; I know not one'"

Habakkuk knew whom the true Rock was when he asked and then answered his own question:
Habakkuk 1:12 "Are You not from everlasting, O ETERNAL CREATOR, my Holy One? We shall not die. O ETERNAL, You have appointed them for judgment; O Rock, You have marked them for correction"

Thus we see Moses, Hannah, Isaiah, Habakkuk, and King David all refer to ETERNAL the CREATOR of the children of Israel as being the Rock of Israel. David, as the king of the children of Israel knew full well that beside ETERNAL there is no other and he states:
2 Samuel 7:22 "Therefore You are great, O ETERNAL CREATOR for there is none like You, nor is there any Holy One besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears"

This statement of David, the beloved of ETERNAL is repeated in first Chronicles 17:20. Then in Psalms it is further stated:
Psalms 73:25 "Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You"

Psalm seventy-three was written by A´saph who states that in heaven, he knows that in reality there is only one CREATOR and this one CREATOR is the CREATOR of the children of Israel. Asaph states he venerates no other Deity for there is only one Holy One, the ETERNAL, the CREATOR, the Rock of Israel, and their Savior.

The peoples of the nations may choose to worship g-ds of gold, silver, wood, stone, even sacred cows as in India. Some even worship volcanoes and the four elements, these being fire, water, earth, and wind. The Psalmist A´:saph plainly claims none of these as his Deity for he knows that there is only one CREATOR, the CREATOR of the children of Israel and beside Him there is none else.

The Prophet Isaiah, in chapter 43:1 of his book is quoting this Being, the CREATOR of the children of Israel who Himself speaks to us throughout time and especially in these days when prophecy is being fulfilled before our very eyes. The conditions, in all of Israel, are shaping up and are leading toward the final redemption of the children of Israel. This will take place with many great miracles, which will be witnessed by all the peoples of the earth as Israel is recalled back to their original homeland.

The Prophet Isaiah again speaks in the name of ETERNAL and quotes ETERNAL as stating:
Isaiah 43:10-12 "'You are My witnesses,' says ETERNAL, 'And My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no Holy One formed, nor shall there be after Me. I, even I, am ETERNAL, and besides Me there is no Savior. I have declared and saved, I have proclaimed, and there was no foreign g-d among you [another savior would be a foreign g-d]. Therefore you are My witnesses,' says ETERNAL, 'that I am the only Holy One'"

The prophet Isaiah believed what ETERNAL was saying to him; otherwise he would not have recorded this statement of ETERNAL in the book that carries his name. This is not the only statement in the book of Isaiah that states that besides ETERNAL there is no Savior whatsoever. I request that you check the following verses in your own copy of the Holy Scriptures Isaiah 44:6; 45:5-6,21.

In the book of the Prophet Hosea it is stated:
Hosea 13:4 "Yet I am ETERNAL your Holy One ever since the land of Egypt, and you shall know no Deity but Me; for there is no Savior besides Me"

How many times must our CREATOR state this before we believe Him? Throughout the history of the children of Israel, those who remain forever faithful have all understood that what the Prophets of ETERNAL state is truth--that ETERNAL is the Rock of Israel and that besides ETERNAL there is no Savior. Because this statement comes from ETERNAL and not from man those who reject it will have NO excuse whatsoever in the day of judgment and they will stand before the heavenly throne. The Mighty One states that this is true that we may believe Him and understand Him.

Thus from all of the above we can glean that all of the children of Israel who faithfully walked in the path of their CREATOR all understood that ETERNAL and ETERNAL alone is the Rock of Israel--that He is ONE and there is none other beside Him. It was this Rock, the glory of this Rock of Israel--the ONLY Savior that filled the Tabernacle in the wilderness after Moses had sanctified it:
Leviticus 8:10 "Also Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it, and consecrated them"

Exodus 40:34-38 "Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of ETERNAL filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter the tabernacle of meeting, because the cloud rested above it, and the glory of ETERNAL filled the Tabernacle [the glory of the Holy One of Israel, the only Holy One, the Rock, and Savior of Israel]. Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would go onward in all their journeys. But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not journey till the day that it was taken up. For the cloud of ETERNAL was above the Tabernacle by day, and fire was over it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys"

This happened in the days of Moses with the Tabernacle and it happened again in the days of King Solomon at the dedication of the Temple which is recorded in 2 Chronicles 5:13-14; 7:1-3. The glory of ETERNAL, the Holy One of Israel, their Rock, and their Savior now filled the Temple.

    How Can we Love ETERNAL?

Did you know that ETERNAL, the CREATOR of the children of Israel and CREATOR of heaven and earth, states that He, ETERNAL is a jealous CREATOR (Deut. 4:5)? As such He will not give of His glory unto another (Isa. 42:8). Therefore, He wants His people to be true to Him in every way, for He commands His people to love Him, notice:
Deuteronomy 6:4-7 "Hear, O Israel: ETERNAL our CREATOR, ETERNAL is one! You shall love ETERNAL your CREATOR with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. These words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up"

Besides having that statement in our prayers and incorporated into our hearts it is to be posted on our door-posts and gates. However, the question is, "how is it possible to love ETERNAL with all our heart, with all our soul and, with all our might"? This is easily said and even more easily commanded by ETERNAL Himself but, how can this be accomplished by us human beings?

    Quoting the original narrator:

"This question has been on my (original narrator) mind for many years and I took it to many of my brethren. When I asked them, I received many answers but after many answers, none satisfied me because deep down in my heart I knew that somewhere in scripture ETERNAL was informing us in plain and clear words how this could be accomplished. Finally ETERNAL opened my eyes to a paragraph in the Torah and then I found the answer crystal clear, the answer to the question that had bothered me for all these years. It is easy for us to love mother, father, brother, sister, wife, children, and even one's nation in which one lives. But what about ETERNAL the invisible CREATOR, the CREATOR of which we have only heard through the words of our fathers, through the stories that have been told unto us through our fathers and teachers, and our study of His word. How is it possible to love someone whom one has never seen, never heard, and never had any personal contact with, even if this Being is called our Heavenly Father. How do we love someone like that? And bear in mind that it is stated of Him that He is a jealous CREATOR and it is stated in His word repeatedly. When ETERNAL, as the CREATOR of the children of Israel, gave His commandments to all of His children as they stood at the foot of the mountain in the wilderness of Sinai, ETERNAL said":
Exodus 20:3-5 "You shall have no other g-ds before Me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, ETERNAL, your Holy One, am a jealous Deity..."
In Deuteronomy ETERNAL speaks to us saying:
Deuteronomy 4:35-40 "To you it was shown, that you might know that ETERNAL Himself is CREATOR; there is none other besides Him. Out of heaven He let you hear His voice, that He might instruct you; on earth He showed you His great fire, and you heard His words out of the midst of the fire. And because He loved your fathers, therefore He chose their descendants after them. And He brought you out of Egypt with His Presence, with His mighty power, driving out from before you nations greater and mightier than you, to bring you in, to give you their land as an inheritance, as it is this day. Therefore know this day, and consider it in your heart, that ETERNAL Himself is CREATOR in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other. You shall therefore keep His statutes and His commandments which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which ETERNAL your Holy One is giving you for all time"

Notice what Joshua said to the people concerning ETERNAL:
Joshua 24:19-20 "...You cannot serve ETERNAL, for He is a holy Being. He is a jealous Deity; He will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins. If you forsake ETERNAL and serve foreign g-ds, then He will turn and do you harm and consume you, after He has done you good"

Notice an example of another god would be a different savior other than ETERNAL. In the Prophet Isaiah, ETERNAL speaks unto His people and He warns them saying:
Isaiah 42:8 "I am ETERNAL, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to carved images"

Now to return to the question; how does one love such a CREATOR of which it is stated over and over again that ETERNAL demands of His people exclusive worship. He, being a jealous Savior that will not tolerate in His people the worship of other saviors beside Himself. The answer to this question is to be found in the Torah, the words of the living CREATOR:
Deuteronomy 13:1-5 "If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or the wonder comes to pass. [And] of which he spoke to you, saying, 'Let us go after other gods'; which you have not known; and [he says] 'let us serve them.' You shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for ETERNAL your CREATOR is TESTING you to know whether you love ETERNAL your Holy One with all your heart and with all your soul. You shall walk after ETERNAL your Holy One and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice, and you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him. But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death. [Why?] Because he has spoken in order to turn you away from ETERNAL your Holy One, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of bondage. [He, the false prophet has spoken] to entice you from the way in which ETERNAL your Holy One commanded you to walk. So you shall put away the evil from your midst"

Thus we see from the words of ETERNAL Himself, that prophets may arise that do great wonders and give great signs. Yet, ETERNAL states it is not because of the wonders and signs that are given that we are to believe and obey them but we are to only obey ETERNAL's words. However, if the prophet entices you to serve other saviors, the text in verse 6 states, "Let us go and serve other gods, which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers" that is a false prophet. Do not listen to false prophets even if such prophets or dreamers accurately predict the future, raise up the dead, heal the blind by restoring their sight, make the dumb to speak, make the lame to walk, and many, many more miracles and wonders.

ETERNAL says if there arise such a prophet or a dreamer of dreams and he says, "there is another savior besides ETERNAL that also has to be worshipped as a deity." If we are called upon to serve this new savior, THAT IT IS A TEST of ETERNAL. It is ETERNAL that is TESTING His people to see if His people will indeed cleave unto Him with all their hearts, their souls and, with all their might.

It is a pity, a very great pity that 2000 years ago, in the time of the Roman Empire in Jerusalem and other parts of the Holy Land there were Jews that did not pass this test when ETERNAL tested them. ETERNAL wanted to see if they would love Him and Him alone with all of their hearts, their souls and with all their might. He wanted to see if they would cleave unto ETERNAL their Holy One with all their hearts, their souls and with all their might. It is pity but they did not cleave to ETERNAL for they went after another savior which neither they nor their fathers before them had known in direct transgression of the Commandment of ETERNAL which forbids us to do such an abomination.

So from all of the above we see that to love ETERNAL is to refrain from any, and all forms of idolatry. Even when men who were known to be prophets went astray, and away from ETERNAL and tried to lead us astray, we are commanded by ETERNAL Himself not to follow them in their folly for their folly brings with them the wages of sin and this is death. We are instructed by ETERNAL Himself to always bear in mind, that it was ETERNAL and He alone, that delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt and out of the house of bondage. And if you say, as those who went astray 2000 years ago that it was another rock as it is stated in the book of 1 Corinthians 10:4, this is error and a very great falsehood, causing them to fail the teast and it sucks people into the sin of idolatry and death.

ETERNAL is holy and He requires of His people the same standard of holiness as He is once again preparing His people for a journey. The journey will be back from the lands of the North where they taken captive during the time of Jacob's Trouble to their original homeland, notice:
Jeremiah 16:14-15 "'Therefore behold, the days are coming,' says ETERNAL, "that it shall no more be said, 'ETERNAL lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,' but, 'ETERNAL lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north and from all the lands where He had driven them.' For I will bring them back into their land, which I gave to their fathers'"

The greatest event in the history of humankind will happen and all the people that are left in the earth will be a witness to the final redemption of the children of Israel. ETERNAL will gather them in and lead them with great signs, wonders and miracles out of all the nations and lands on the face of this earth. He will lead them back through the desert to their homeland, which is the land of Israel as Isaiah states:
Isaiah 11:16 "And there shall be an highway for the remnant of His people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt"

These tapes are being made free of charge to all Sabbath observing groups around the earth as the funds make them available. [If you would like a cokpy to give someone please let us know.] It is our belief that since these people are clinging to observe the Sabbath, to keep the Commandments and festivals of ETERNAL, to abstain from unclean foods and to pay the tithes of their wages to ETERNAL is for us an indication that these people truly love ETERNAL. It is an indication that they are truly in search of truth. However, they all have one thing in common: they do not posses the truth of ETERNAL and proof of this is to be found in the directory of the Sabbath keeping groups of the United States of America which represents almost two million people in search of truth. They are represented in more than two hundred different groups, all teaching contradicting doctrines. This is not because they want to do this on purpose but because they do not have the calling of ETERNAL.

In order to teach ETERNAL's ways one must have the calling of ETERNAL. One must know who ETERNAL is and what He demands of His people and one must love ETERNAL's people as ETERNAL loves His people.

After the passing away of Solomon, the wise King of Israel, the kingdom of the twelve tribes of the nation of Israel was split into two kingdoms. Two and a half tribes remained faithful to the house of David, and ten revolted and were led astray by their new king into idolatry and eventually they were dispersed among all the nations on the face of this earth. These are the called the ten lost tribes of the children of Israel. However, in the eyes of the Mighty One, these ten tribes are not lost. He knows them, He knows where they are and He knows who they are. In these latter days ETERNAL is calling them to repent of the evil of idolatry. The Holy One is calling them out to be sanctified to prepare them for the greatest event that history has ever known: namely the final redemption of the full House of Israel from all the ends of the earth.

After having been dispersed among the nations of the earth, these tribes of Israel have all, without any exception whatsoever, lived according to the ways of the nations and NOT according to the ways of ETERNAL. This has all been foretold in Scripture through the prophets of ETERNAL, that now in the latter days ETERNAL yearns in love for His people as a husband yearns for his wife. He desires His people and He is calling His people to purify themselves of all the influences of the heathen. He wants them to come out of the cultures and heathen religions in which, they have been raised by their fathers, and their fathers before them. So therefore, He now raises up pastors according to His heart who search out the lost sheep of the house of Israel, speak to the sheep of the House of Israel and comforts them. One of the signs that these pastors of ETERNAL have to identify the people of ETERNAL is the sign of the Sabbath. As it is so stated:
Exodus 31:16-17 "Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. 'It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever'; for in six days ETERNAL made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed"

Note it is ETERNAL that says the sign between Him and His people is the Sabbath. The Sabbath is the identification mark for all of the children of Israel that they are the children of ETERNAL. This is the covenant sign between ETERNAL and His people. This is the sign for ETERNAL's pastors to know where they have to go to find those of lost sheep of the house of Israel that He may be calling. They have to address themselves to a people that profess to observe the Sabbath but who walk in the ways of the nations. The Sabbath is one of the first truths that will be revealed unto the lost tribes of the children of Israel as they search to find their CREATOR in the latter days. This was foretold by ETERNAL and written by Moses:
Deuteronomy 4:27-31 "When you beget children and grandchildren and have grown old in the land, and act corruptly and make a carved image in the form of anything, and do evil in the sight of ETERNAL your CREATOR to provoke Him to anger. I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that you will soon utterly perish from the land which you cross over the Jordan to possess. You will not prolong your days in it, but will be utterly destroyed. And ETERNAL will scatter you among the peoples, and you will be left few in number among the nations where ETERNAL will drive you. And there you will serve g-ds, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see nor hear nor eat nor smell (e.g. a wooden cross with an image on it). But from there you will seek ETERNAL your CREATOR, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul. When you are in distress, and all these things come upon you (when?) in the latter days, when you turn to ETERNAL CREATOR and obey His voice (for ETERNAL your Holy One is a merciful Being). He will not forsake you, nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them"

Let us analyze what we have read. First it is stated that if the people turn from ETERNAL and worship an idol He would scatter the tribes of Israel among the nations of the earth. The result of this is persecution and intermarriage and conversion to other religions with the result that they are left few in numbers. Secondly among the nations of the earth they would serve other g-ds of these nations, other saviors. This has happened this prophecy has been fulfilled. They will thus turn away from ETERNAL and they will not find peace. However and in the latter days it is the spirit of ETERNAL will inspire them to seek ETERNAL through the study of His Word. If their study is sincere and if they search for Him with all their hearts and with all their soul, ETERNAL guarantees that they will find Him. That means to find ETERNAL they will listen to His voice, see the truth of the matter, and they will forsake their petty doctrines. In doing so they will turn around and return unto ETERNAL our CREATOR and serve Him with all their heart and soul. This will only happen in the latter days and not before.

There is a time element involved here as there is also a time element in prophecy for the setting up of the Kingdom of ETERNAL and the revelation of King David as the Messiah. Having found ETERNAL, they now have to turn to Him, in other words they have to turn away from serving the idols and the idolatry of these nations in which they have been raised by their fathers and their fathers before them. They will do this by being obedient to His voice. They hear His voice when they hear from His words that His called ones proclaim.
Jeremiah 3:14-15 "Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say: 'Return, backsliding [idolatrous] Israel,' says ETERNAL; 'I will not cause My anger to fall on you. For I am merciful,' says ETERNAL; 'I will not remain angry forever. And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding"

The result of this turning around to the ways and the laws of ETERNAL will be that ETERNAL will bring His people back into the Holy Land. He will give them pastors according to His heart that will feed the sheep of the House of Israel with knowledge and with understanding, knowledge of the word of ETERNAL and understanding of this word. And this knowledge has to be acquired by all the children of Israel that went astray after other saviors. It is acquired through pastors ETERNAL is now calling into His service.

These pastors will be the pastors according to ETERNAL's heart. Such were Abraham, Moses, David, and the prophet Jonah all of that pleaded with ETERNAL for His flock. Of Abraham, it is known that he pleaded for the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. He even bargained with ETERNAL to save the lives of the men of those cities. Of Moses it is said that ETERNAL was about to destroy His nation and from Moses He would build another nation. However, Moses said that ETERNAL might as well forget this as Moses wanted to suffer the same fate that the people would suffer. He also stated that he wanted no part of the favor that ETERNAL was willing to bestow upon him at the cost of the children of Israel. David, the great King when he saw the angel of destruction hovering over Jerusalem, already having slain 70,000 of the children of Israel said unto ETERNAL, "I and my house have sinned against You but these Your sheep, what have they done"? Jonah the prophet was sent upon a mission of ETERNAL to Nineveh to bring these sinful people to repentance but Jonah the prophet of ETERNAL ran away from ETERNAL, not wanting to bring the children of Israel into this place. For he reasoned "what if the Ninevites repent of their sin? What will be said of the children of Israel to whom ETERNAL has sent many prophets and yet they have refused to repent of their sins?" Thus Jonah was willing to suffer death rather than bring a bad name upon his people.

Such were the pastors of ETERNAL. These pastors who love ETERNAL, but when it came to the people of ETERNAL, they loved these people just as much, knowing that the destruction or the desecration of the name of the Kingdom of Israel is the destruction and the desecration of the Divine Name. Notice the anguish they will have over the sins of Israel in the latter days:
Ezekiel 9:4-6 "And ETERNAL said unto him [an angel], 'Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.' And to the others he said in mine hearing, 'Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare neither have ye pity. Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house"

Do you have anguish over the sins in Israel or do you revel in them? These are the kind of pastors that ETERNAL has in mind for His people in the latter days, pastors who anguished over ETERNAL's people will speak comfortably to His people.

ETERNAL says through the Prophet Jeremiah:
Jeremiah 3:15 "And I will give you shepherds according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and with understanding"

The prophet Isaiah speaks in the name of ETERNAL and states:
Isaiah 40:1 "Comfort, yes, comfort My people!" says your CREATOR"

When the time comes for ETERNAL to redeem His people as is stated in the prophet Hosea:
Hosea 2:11,13-16 "I will also cause all her mirth to cease, her feast days, her new moons [crescent or dark of moon], her Sabbaths; all her appointed feasts... I will punish her for the days of the 'Baals' [plural a trin~ity or twin~ity] to which she burned incense. She decked herself with her earrings and jewelry, and went after her lovers; but Me she forgot,' says ETERNAL. 'Therefore, behold, I will allure her, [I] will bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfort to her. I will give her vineyards from there, and the Valley of Achor as a door of hope. She shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, as in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt. And it shall be, in that day,' says ETERNAL, 'That you will call Me [KJV has Ish´i] 'My Husband,' And no longer call Me [KJV has Ba´ali] 'my Master' [but it really means 'lord']"

We must bear in mind that we are in the interim between the First and Third Temple. The northern ten tribes of Israel were taken into captivity prior to the destruction of the First Temple and the two and one-half tribes in Judah were taken with its destruction. All of Israel-all thirteen tribes-were taken into captivity and have worshipped foreign g-ds and saviors ever since. These tribes of Israel, as modern nations today will have to go back into captivity before we can be brought back to our original homeland. While it is certain that our return will happen the Time of Jacob's Trouble must come first as Jeremiah states:
Jeremiah 16:13-17 "'Therefore I will cast you out of this land into a land that you do not know, neither you nor your fathers; and there you shall serve other g-ds day and night, where I will not show you favor. Therefore behold, the days are coming,' says ETERNAL, 'that it shall no more be said, 'ETERNAL lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,' but, 'ETERNAL lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north and from all the lands where He had driven them.' For I will bring them back into their land which I gave to their fathers. 'Behold, I will send for many fishermen,' says ETERNAL, 'and they shall fish them; and afterward I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks. For My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from My face, nor is their iniquity hidden from My eyes'"

Notice what the prophet is declaring in the name of the CREATOR of heaven and earth when he says "behold I will send for many fishermen." A fisherman is one who puts out a line with bait in the waters and the fish swim towards line and are caught. The fish willingly take the bait and are delivered by the fisherman. This refers to those who hear the word of ETERNAL and are drawn by His ancient words, which are still applicable today even in this modern tinker toy society.

However, there will be those who do not respond and ETERNAL will send hunters after them. A hunter is one who stalks his prey and snags the prey as it tries to run away from him. The hunter shall hunt them out of every mountain, from every hill, and out of the clefts of the rocks. Why? Because the eyes of ETERNAL are on them and they cannot escape. They will be brought into the wilderness with or without their consent. In reading the next verse remember that the firstborn receives a double portion of either good or bad and Israel is the firstborn of ETERNAL.

Jeremiah 16:13-21 "And first I will repay double for their iniquity and their sin, because they have defiled My land; they have filled My inheritance with the carcasses of their detestable and abominable idols. O ETERNAL, my strength and my fortress, my refuge in the day of affliction. The Gentiles shall come to You from the ends of the earth and say, 'Surely our fathers have inherited lies, Worthlessness and unprofitable things. Will a man make g-ds for himself, Which are not g-ds? Therefore behold, I will this once, cause them to know, I will cause them to know My hand and My might; and they shall know that My name is ETERNAL"

Ezekiel chapter twenty is about the Holy One's dealing with His people Israel. It is a brief review of Israel's history and a look into its future. ETERNAL states that He will bring them from captivity to the wilderness where He will purge out the rebels. The wilderness is the same that He brought the multitude to that He freed from Egyptian captivity. The same place where the children of Israel refused to enter the promised land. The multitude all died except Caleb, Joshua, and the children of the multitude and they entered the Holy Land after the rebels had died. The Holy One makes a serious statement that we need to hear in these latter days:
Ezekiel 20:33-38 "'As I live,' says ETERNAL CREATOR, 'surely with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out, I will rule over you. I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you are scattered, with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm and with fury poured out. And I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will plead My case with you face to face. Just as I pleaded My case with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will plead My case with you,' says ETERNAL CREATOR. 'I will make you pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant. I will purge the rebels from among you and those who transgress against Me; I will bring them out of the country where they dwell, but they shall not enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am ETERNAL"

What have these rebels done that is so horrible? Are they serial killers? Are they multi-partner sex fiend adulterers? Yes, you could say that. However, their adultery is not against a human mate--it is against the ETERNAL CREATOR, the Holy One of Israel. These rebels have worshipped another savior "in place of" or "in addition too" ETERNAL. It is that simple. THEY FAILED THE TEST.

We have seen that the Holy One of Israel will send out fishermen before He sends out the hunters. The fishermen simply declare His Word to Israel and they are the pastors and the shepherds of ETERNAL. They know where they have to go to find the sheep, the lost sheep of the house of Israel. But the sheep, how do they know that these pastors, these shepherds are the shepherds of ETERNAL? As I have already stated, one has to have a calling from ETERNAL to be able to teach the ways of ETERNAL. And one who has this calling has entered into the covenant of ETERNAL and receives a portion of ETERNAL's spirit. If one is not being called they will not heed these ancient Words of our CREATOR and reject the Abrahamic Hebrew Faith, which is for all human beings. Let us look at a Scripture that has certainly been misunderstood.
Zechariah 8:23 "Thus saith ETERNAL of hosts; 'In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that the Holy One is with you"

The word "Jew" is number H3064 in Strong's Exhaustive Concordance and Gesenius' Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon to the Old Testament.    Gesenius' states that it has two meanings: a) "one who belonged to the kingdom of Judah, 2 Kg 25:25." b) "in later Hebrew, after the carrying away of the ten tribes it refers to any Israelite, Jer. 34:9." Thus in the latter days there will be pastors and shepherds in Israel with the true word of ETERNAL explaining the true faith of the Holy Scriptures, the Abrahamic Hebrew Faith who are Israelites.

In other words we know that the worship of ETERNAL is with none of the pagan-based religions of this world. Please note what the prophecy is stating. It does not say that these ten men belong to these nations. It states that out of all the languages of these nations because these ten men represent the ten tribes of the children of Israel who speak the languages of these nations and who reside among these nations but who do not spiritually belong to these nations. These ten Israelites will take hold of the skirt of a fellow Israelites who speaks the ancient words of the Holy One of Israel. These Israelites belong to the house of Israel but adhere to Israel's original Hebrew Faith. These fishermen are the shepherds and pastors who have entered into the covenant of our forefathers, which is the ancient Abrahamic Hebrew Faith. These ten men will say, "we will go with you for we have heard that ETERNAL is with you." Those who respond will come back to the original Abrahamic Hebrew Faith of the full house of Israel after hearing the ancient Words of the Holy One of Israel. Let us look at another misunderstood Scripture:

We have seen that ETERNAL is a jealous CREATOR who does not tolerate in His people the worship of other saviors beside Him. He is a CREATOR that demands of His people's exclusive worship. In ages past, His people turned away from Him and served other g-ds and saviors. Thus the Holy One of Israel scattered them among all the nations of the earth where they were raised up in the religions and in the ways of these nations into which ETERNAL had scattered them.

Now, in these the latter days He, ETERNAL is once again calling His people and instructing them that the time has come to turn around from walking in the ways of the peoples of the nations and to start walking in the ways of ETERNAL. He instructs His people to return unto Him, the only source of truth, and the only source of salvation. He states in Malachi 3:7 speaking to all of His children "return unto Me and I will return unto you."

For He, ETERNAL is about to redeem His people from the ends of the earth from where they will soon be scattered again. He will redeem them for the sanctification of His great name before the eyes of all the nations He will redeem His people. He will once again lead them out with great signs, wonders and miracles and He will go out before them as in the days of old when He lead His people out by going before them by day in a cloud and by night in a pillar of fire. Our CREATOR speaking of that time stated:
Isaiah 52:12 "For you shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight; for ETERNAL will go before you, And the Holy One of Israel will be your rear guard"

When Elijah stood on the mount and said:
1 Kings 18:21 "How long halt ye between two opinions? If ETERNAL be The Holy One follow him: but if "B-al," then follow him. And the people answered him not a word"

Note that it took fire coming down from ETERNAL in heaven before the children of Israel finally said:
1 Kings 18:21 "Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, 'Elijah, Elijah' [which is to say 'ETERNAL He is CREATOR, ETERNAL He is CREATOR"

It took fire coming down from heaven to turn them from their false god and false savior.   Will it take the fire of Jacob's Trouble for you?
