"If I shut up the heavens and there is no rain; if I command the locusts to ravage the land; or if I let loose pestilence against My people, when My people, who bear My name, humble themselves, pray, and seek My favor and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear in My heavenly abode and forgive their sins and heal their land."

More on Stem Cell Research -----Original Message-----
Steve wrote: I basically agree with you but would like to make one point. Bush is not ignoring the wrong committed with the murdered embryos. His position is since the embryos are already "dead" and have no potential to become life, let them be used in an attempt to preserve life. I do think this is a very dangerous path to take because of where it leads. If society would take this path only far enough to find a cure for diseases, this may be OK, but I know some see this as another step to human cloning and I do not think our God will let this happen. Shalom Steve, Although Bbb said in her email, that I answered earlier (WUpC #33), that the "embryos were already dead," they are not dead. I did not discuss that point then because it was off my intended subject of "Stem Cell Research is Murder in the First Degree." The way fertility clinics work is that they test-tube a conception with a donor sperm and donor egg (the donors may be married or not, but are not yet ready to have the child). In the next step, the lab quick-freezes the embryo to be used later as a uterus implant (note that the embryo IS NOT DEAD because it is to be implanted later). If the embryos did not have a potential for being born a baby, the clinics would have already disposed of them. Therefore, the question IS NOT whether they use "old" embryos (not dead, just "unwanted" as of now) or "new" harvested embryos for "Stem Cell Research." Why? Because,it does not matter if an embryo is "old" or "new" it is still a person regardless of how long it has been since it was conceived. To do away with an embryo is murder - which is my point, not whether President Bush supports it or not. To mutilate a conceived embryo (person) is murder plain and simple. It breaks the Commandment that states, "You shall not murder" (Exodus 20:3 New Kings James Version). "The Hebrew language employs several words to express the idea, <to kill>. The verb used here is a special word, which can only mean <murder> and always indicates intentional slaying" (Scofield Notes). Whenever an egg and a sperm unite, they form an embryo. The new embryo is a new separate life, a new person and to mutilate an embryo (person) is intentional slaying which is murder plain and simple. In addition, it does not matter if the embryo is in a test tube or in a womb, it is murder to kill it regardless of the so-called reason. You and I both know that all of the horses will get out once the gate is opened. Who is going to check to determine if the embryos being destroyed are the "unwanted frozen ones" or "fresh harvested ones"? You and I both know the answer is NO ONE. In addition, we both know the stated purpose for embryo mutilation is to grow new tissues for implants. I know and I am sure that you also know deep down, this will lead to cloning of humans. Why clone humans? The reason seems obvious - to have them become slave humans grown for specific purposes, one of which may be that, they are grown simply to have their organs harvested, when the money is right. Suppose in our "brave new world," a retina was needed. To provide the retina, a two year old clone would not have to be sacrificed, just have one eye removed and kept alive until the next opportunity to donate more of its organs for the "good of society." Perhaps the next opportunity for the baby clone to be of service to society would be to donate a kidney. It could still be kept alive attached to kidney dialyses machine and fed intravenously until it had the opportunity to donate its heart, of course its vocal chords would have to be cut so as not to annoy the technicians. Do not lose sight of the fact that this whole miserable business is for one purpose and that is raking in more shekels. If you feel this is disgusting, how do you think our loving CREATOR feels about it. I have to disagree with you, but our CREATOR is not going to step into world history again until humankind has had a belly full of what we are doing. It is the same as it was in they days of Noah. He did not step in until the earth was FILLED WITH VIOLENCE - that means a total complete lack of any feeling of sanctity for human life and total violence worldwide. How close to that condition are we?
Your Hebrew brother,
