In the next verse the Masoretic Text, Targum, Vulgate, Dead Sea Scrolls, and Septuagint read “From the labor of his soul he shall see light.”[30]. In a contest between the Masoretic Text and the Midnight Monks, I will go with the Masoretic Text. The light David sees is from the sun as he is stands from the grave.
Isaiah 53:11. He shall see the labor of his soul, and be satisfied. From the labor of his soul he shall see light. By his knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify [make right #H6663] many, for he shall bear their iniquities.
The English word “justify” comes from the Hebrew word “tsâdaq” (Strong’s #H6663) and means “to be or make right (in a moral or forensic sense).” As we just saw in Psalms 51 King David will convert many sinners to ETERNAL, but he will not bear their sins. Nobody can bear any one else's sin as each must bear their own (Jeremiah 3:29-31; Ezekiel 18:2-5; Ex 20:5).
...53:12. Therefore I will divide him [David] a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul unto death, and he was numbered with the transgressors, and he bore the sin of many, and made intercession [will have an effect on #H6293] for the transgressors.
The Midnight Monks had a field day with the Hebrew word “pâga'” #H6293. See verse on the previous page for the full explanation for the word. In verse twelve King David will be great since he will be King of the World.
Israel Restored as Wife of ETERNAL
Isaiah chapter 54 is an allegorical song to Jerusalem as a barren woman who will no longer bare that shame. In the song, ETERNAL sings about remarrying Israel whom He had divorced. Since He was never divorced from Judah she is still His wife and should not feel slighted at all.
Isaiah 54:1-3 (NLB). Sing, O childless woman! Break out into loud and joyful song, Jerusalem, for she who was abandoned has more blessings [Heb. Literally ‘children’] now than she whose husband stayed! Enlarge your house; build on additions; spread out your home! For you will soon be bursting at the seams! And your descendants will possess the cities left behind during the exile and rule the nations that took their lands.
...54:4-8. Fear not; you will no longer live in shame. The shame of your youth and the sorrows of widowhood will be remembered no more, for your CREATOR will be your “husband.” ETERNAL Almighty is His Name; He is your [Savior], the Righteous One of Israel, the SOVEREIGN of all the earth. For ETERNAL has called you back from your grief—a young wife abandoned by her husband. For a brief moment I abandoned you. But, with great compassion I will take you back. In a moment of anger I turned My face a little while; but with everlasting love I will have pity on you, says ETERNAL, your [Savior].
...54:9-10. Just as in the time of Noah I swore that I would never again permit the waters of a flood to cover the earth and destroy its life, so now I swear that I will never again pour out My anger on you. For the mountains may depart and the hills disappear, but My kindness shall not leave you. My promise of peace for you will never be broken, says ETERNAL who has mercy upon you.
...54:11-17. O My afflicted people, tempest-tossed and troubled, I will rebuild you on a foundation of sapphires and make the walls of your houses from precious jewels. I will make your towers of sparkling agate and your gates and walls of shining gems. And all your citizens shall be taught by Me, and their prosperity shall be great. You will live under a government that is just and fair. Your enemies will stay far away; you will live in peace. Terror shall not come near. If any nation comes to fight you, it will not be sent by Me to punish you. Therefore, it will be routed, for I am on your side. I have created the smith who blows the coals beneath the forge and makes the weapons of destruction. And I have created the armies that destroy. But in that coming day, no weapon turned against you shall succeed, and you will have justice against every courtroom lie. This is the heritage of the Servants of ETERNAL. This is the blessing I have given you, says ETERNAL.
Salvation Through the SOVEREIGN’s Grace
Chapter 55 of Isaiah is our loving SOVEREIGN’s path for salvation for all of humankind. It is so simple and straightforward.
Isaiah 55:1-2 (NLB). Say there! Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink—even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine and milk—it is all free! Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for groceries that do you no good? Listen and I will tell you where to get good food that fattens up the soul!
...55:3-5. Come to Me with your ears wide open. LISTEN, for the life of your soul is at stake. I am ready to make an everlasting Covenant[32] with you, to give you all the unfailing mercies and love that I had for King David. He proved My power by conquering foreign nations. You also will command the nations, and they will come running to obey, not because of your own power or virtue, but because I, ETERNAL your SOVEREIGN, have glorified you.
...55:6-9. Seek ETERNAL while you can find Him. Call upon Him now while He is near. Let men cast off their wicked deeds; let them banish from their minds the very thought of doing wrong! Let them turn to ETERNAL that He may have mercy upon them, and to our SOVEREIGN, for He will abundantly pardon! This plan of Mine is not what you would work out, neither are My thoughts the same as yours! For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than yours, and My thoughts than yours.
...55:10-13. As the rain and snow come down from heaven and stay upon the ground to water the earth, and cause the grain to grow and to produce seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry, so also is My Word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It shall accomplish all I want it to and prosper everywhere I send it. You will live in joy and peace. The mountains and hills, the trees of the field—all the world around you—will rejoice. Where once were thorns, fir trees will grow; where briars grew, the myrtle trees will sprout up. This miracle will make ETERNAL’s Name very great and be an everlasting sign of the SOVEREIGN’s power and love.
You may find this hard to believe, but ETERNAL does not require blood for the forgiveness of sin. The Babylonian Mystery Religion says blood is required so they can sneak in the worship of a metal image on a wooden stake. The living SOVEREIGN hates human sacrifice it is an abomination to Him. All that is required is that you come before His Throne with a humble and contrite heart. Read Psalm 51 it is King David’s prayer after his shenanigans with Bathsheba. He cried true heartfelt tears and deeply repented.
To repent you confess your sin before the Throne and never do that thing again. This is why King David was a man after ETERNAL’s own heart. He sinned, he repented, and he learned his lesson.
You must make sure whom you are praying to. This is how I began my first prayer to my SOVEREIGN when I was fifty-nine years old. “This prayer is directed to the Being Who created the universe, Who created Adam and Eve, Who was a friend of Abraham, Who talked face to face with Moses, Who wrestled in the dust of the ground with Jacob. I have never prayed to You before and I do not even know Your Name. This I do know and that from this moment forward I will only believe what You say in Your Hebrew Scripture and I do not care what any man says or believes. I want to be Your son and I want You to be my Father. I have believed in idols and worshiped a man from Galilee, I am sorry and I will never do that again.” After the opening then you can add the body of words to your prayer.
