I am in the process of learning & always fearful my questions may be laughed at, but please remember I just recently shelved xtianity & am in the conversion process. My question is: What are the biblical phrophecies concerning Israel & this conflict which is going on right now?
What did it say about the nations, will they surround Israel as friends or dessert Her?

You have asked a very serious question which is a crying instead of laughing matter. The first statement is from Yael Liberman, wife of Rabbi Hillel Liberman who was killed at Joseph's tomb, quoted from Arutz-7.
"...Yael Liberman then recounted how the Torah scrolls that were saved from Joseph's Tomb were covered with pure white covers, which Hillel had bought the week before. '[This was a symbol that] all of Israel was mourning that day, was praying for the upliftment of the House of Israel, was fasting for him [on Yom Kippur]... that he should be the last sacrifice - no, he was not a sacrifice, he was simply a pioneer for the People of Israel, running to tell them to wake up, to tell them to turn in this direction...'"
This was the headline yesterday:

Prime Minister Barak's 48-hour ultimatum to Yasser Arafat has elapsed,
but army sources express concern that the Palestinians seem to show no
sign of letting up on their violence...
How does this fit into the end time?
Read this in context (Jer. 23:13-22) in your own Scriptures as will
only quote briefly:
Jer.. 23:13 "And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria:
They prophesied by 'baal' and caused My people Israel to err..."
Israel has sinned a great sin but then the topic switches to Jerusalem:
Jer.. 23:14 "Also, I have seen a horrible thing in the
prophets of Jerusalem. Ö20 The anger of YHWH will not turn
back until He has executed and performed the thoughts of His heart. In
the latter days, you will understand it perfectly. I have
not sent these prophets, yet they ran. I have not spoken to them,
yet they prophesied. But if they had stood in My counsel, and had
caused My people to hear My words, Then they would have turned them from
their evil way and from the evil of their doings.
If this is the latter days and that is a big if, but if this the latter days then what is prophesied is not a pretty sight.
Ezek. 4:1 "And now, son of dust, take a large brick and lay it before you and draw a map of the city of Jerusalem on it. ...3 And put an iron plate between you and the city, like a wall of iron. Demonstrate how an enemy army will capture Jerusalem! "There is special meaning in each detail of what I have told you to do. For it is a warning to the people of Israel.
Once again the people of Judah will suffer to warn and awaken

The rest of chapter 4 and all of chapter 5 describe the horror that will
befall Jerusalem IF THIS IS THE LATTER DAYS. Chapter 6 six then shows
what will happen to Israel.
But you might ask what do the people of Jerusalem have to repent of? they acknowledge YHWH and His Sabbath. Yes, they do acknowledge YHWH and that is the problem, they only acknowledge and they do not worship Him. What do people of the Jewish religion have to repent of? Of obeying what the Rabbis, sages, and oral traditions state, rather than strictly observing what The Holy Hebrew Scriptures state so plainly. Of developing a religion that is not sanctioned in the Holy Scriptures, and putting it between them and the Holy One of Israel; thus following the pattern of all the other religions of the world. Of desperately clinging to the customs and traditions they brought back from Babylon, such as pagan names for the names of their months, such as beginning the month on the pagan crescent rather than the full moon of Ps 81:3; resulting in the Feast days that they observe are THEIR Feast days and not the Feats of YHWH
IF these are the latter days and IF these are the times spoken of by
the prophets, is Jerusalem doomed? That is call only YHWH can make,
but He does give this promise:
"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and

from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." II Chronicles
7:14.
This is a matter of the heart and humbly studying the Scriptures and turning to their Elohim in sack cloth and ashes, and it is not a matter of the army. It is a matter of following the Scriptures and not the sages, and their traditions.
IF these are the latter days and IF the prophesied events are now beginning to happen then we must all return now to the One True CREATOR, the Holy One of Israel and pray that Jerusalem and all of Israel will return to YHWH and that, He will hear from heaven, forgive our sins, and heal our land.
May our CREATOR bless us all with an understanding of His Word,.
