Chapter 5 - Education and Religion of Tomorrow

About half of all people on earth today are illiterate. Thus, they are ignorant of the Scriptures unless it has been spoken to them. It is not that they have rejected truth or refused to understand it they just do not have any education other than what they need to survive in their land.

There is a man in Central Africa who had heard Armstrong’s program of the “World Tomorrow” and had requested information from them. He wanted to represent them and be their minister in his country. He later found our “Quest for the ETERNAL CREATOR” on the Internet and is now struggling to set up a United Hebrew Congregation there.

The problems he faces are overwhelming. The country is impoverished and just surviving is a struggle. He is the only man with any education among them and is without means financially. Others are illiterate people and they cannot understand the concept of our ETERNAL CREATOR much less His Commandments. Sadly, such people will have to receive at least an elementary education before they could be reached with the understanding of the Abrahamic Hebrew Faith. To compound the problem half of the people do not speak English; they speak French.

We are working to get an Italian version of the “Quest for the ETERNAL CREATOR” on the Internet, but that will not help in this particular case. So what does ETERNAL say...

Zephaniah 3:8-9. “Therefore wait for Me,” says ETERNAL, “Until the day I rise up for plunder; My determination is to gather the nations To My assembly of kingdoms, ...For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language, that they all may call on the Name of ETERNAL, to serve Him with one accord.

Reeducating the World

Now consider those in our more universally educated affluent nations--the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, and such nations, in other words, the Anglo Saxon people.

We covered a section on this world’s paganized, agnostic, decadent education earlier in this pamphlet. The academic system was founded by the pagan philosopher Plato. It has always remained pagan. Injected into it, in more recent times, has been German rationalism, and the atheistic theory of evolution.

Evolution, the atheist’s attempt to explain creation without the CREATOR, is the basic concept on which modern education has been built. Modern education is a mixture of truth and error, fact and fable and mostly fable. One of the first things that I can remember being taught is the false fable of “Santa Claus.” We all know that it is a false fable, yet it is still taught to young children. So goes all of modern education and with more fables than facts!

The educated of this world started at birth from scratch as far as knowledge goes. At the hour of birth they knew nothing. The process of education in this world is one of funneling knowledge into minds. It is a process of memorizing. The student is taught from textbooks. Textbooks are supposed to be true and authoritative. The student must read, study, accept, and memorize. In exams he is graded on the accuracy of repeating what was “in the book.” He is not supposed to question but to accept and believe.

Modern education has been based on a false, erroneous, untrue foundation. The supposedly educated of this world--even the great minds--have absorbed false knowledge. They have been trained in a false approach to knowledge. Usually error is based on a false assumed premise or hypothesis, taken for granted, never questioned--and, of course, unproved. The “educated” minds have been filled with such false hypotheses. They have allowed a false sense of values to flood their minds.

Truth appears to these “educated minds” to be fable. What is right may be to them foolishness. That which may be utterly wrong appears to be right. They come to view things through the false concept of evolution that man is just another animal, howbeit, with more intelligence. This mis-education holds their minds captive.

It has been explained how the natural carnal mind, devoid of revealed knowledge from ETERNAL, is limited to knowledge of the physical and material. The approach to all knowledge in the Western world has been through the evolutionary hypothesis ³⁸ --never through the CREATOR’s revealed knowledge.

In the SOVEREIGN’s millennial civilization, the basis of all knowledge dissemination will be revelation from Him who created all things. Light will replace darkness. Truth will replace error. Understanding will replace crass materialism. True knowledge will replace intellectual ignorance. To help the physical beings in the WWW, there will be a voice behind them telling them the right way to go.

Isaiah 30:21. Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.

One of the great problems facing the Prophet will be that of reeducating the supposedly educated. These minds--and they are, indeed, the world’s finest and best minds--have become so perverted with false education that they will be unable to accept truth until they first unlearn error. Moreover, it is at least ten times more difficult to unlearn error firmly imbedded in the mind than it is to start from “scratch” and learn new truth.

It may actually take the world’s educated longer to come to a knowledge of truth--to become truly educated--than the illiterate people of this world. But, what is the basis of all true knowledge?

Proverbs 1:7. The fear of ETERNAL is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

The SOVEREIGN’s inspired Word is the foundation of knowledge, but the scholars of this world have been trained to hold this true foundation in prejudiced contempt.

Yes, indeed, the educating and reeducating of the world will be one of the most important tasks Elijah will face in the SOVEREIGN’s Kingdom. Today people follow the false and deceptive values. Their entire thinking will require a reorientation--a complete reversal of direction.

Jerusalem - The World Capital

After David and Elijah come on the scene, the earth will be full of the true knowledge of the SOVEREIGN as the oceans are full of water (Isaiah 11:9). How will this be brought about?

The Prophet Micah gives part of the answer.

Micah 4:1. But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the House of ETERNAL shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.

Prophecy uses “mountain” as a symbol of a major nation, and “hills” as a symbol of smaller nations. In other words, the Kingdom of the SOVEREIGN--the ruling Kingdom--will be established in complete authority over all of the nations, both large and small--and people will flow to ETERNAL’s Kingdom. Now continue:

...4:2-3. And many nations shall come, and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of ETERNAL and to the house of the SOVEREIGN of Jacob; and He will teach us of His Ways, and we will walk in His paths. For the Law shall go forth of Zion and the Word of the ETERNAL from Jerusalem. And He shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

This knowledge--this teaching--and even knowledge of the SOVEREIGN’s Law--shall go forth from the Temple and from Jerusalem, the new World Capital.

The CREATOR Himself will be ruling from Jerusalem with David and Elijah under His direction. This Headquarters, the World Capital of Jerusalem, then, undoubtedly will administer the world’s new system of education.

The indication is that the teaching of spiritual truth--will be directed, worldwide, from this Headquarters under Elijah and the overall direct supervision of the SOVEREIGN.

The principal purpose of Elijah is to minister to the people...

Malachi 4:5-6. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of ETERNAL: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

And when, at Elijah’s 18-second prayer (verses 36-37), fire fell miraculously from heaven consuming Elijah’s sacrifice, the people fell on their faces, and said, “Elijah, Elijah” meaning: “ETERNAL, He is the SOVEREIGN; ETERNAL, He is the SOVEREIGN” (verse 39) because that is what Elijah’s name means.

Actually, religious development is merely spiritual education. It also includes repentance which is just basically changing your thought pattern with the help of ETERNAL’s Righteous Spirit. Then continuing to make the right decisions develops Sovereignly righteous character in us.

It is very significant that Elijah had organized and headed three schools or colleges (II Kings 2:3, 5; 4:38 -- at Bethel, Jericho, and Gilgal) teaching the SOVEREIGN’s Truth in a world corrupted by false pagan education.

There are those in religions today who believe that their doctrines are the answer to this world’s problems. But that, dear brethren, is exactly why there is a Time of Jacob’s Trouble. All religions are man made and all have another “god” and another “book” other than the CREATOR and His Word. The SOVEREIGN does not use a babylonian mixture of confused, disagreeing religious organizations, divided into hundreds of different concepts of theological doctrine as His instruments.

David will be successful in his duties of bringing back all of the tribes from all of the nations where they were taken captive during the Time of Jacob’s Trouble and ruling the world. Elijah will be successful in reeducating the world and imparting the knowledge of the CREATOR. These will not be easy tasks because the people have been deceived for thousands of years. This will result in mankind’s development of Sovereignly righteous character which is what we need to be developing in our lives today.

However, their work does not stop with just bringing Israel back to the wilderness where the righteous will enter the Valley of Jezreel. It will continue through the millennial years and even beyond.

Through the millennial years, the real world teaching will be administered by the Jerusalem Headquarters, composed of the righteous remnant and those who have been raised in the First Awakening under direct personal supervision of Elijah the Prophet. Included in those awakened, other than the obvious candidates for teaching the faith of our SOVEREIGN (today called the Abrahamic Hebrew Faith), are all of the many priests and prophets. Other candidates that are less obvious could be the following.

Enoch and other Patriarchs who walked and talked with (Genesis 5:24) will surely have a big part to perform.

Noah preached righteousness for decades to his fellow inhabitants. Was there even one person who listened to what he had to say? The answer is a resounding “no.” Actually, there is no difference between his generation and our generation today. Even though we, of United Hebrew Congregations, may tell those we come in contact with and even write articles and put them on the Internet and in the Hope Of Israel magazine, we cannot change even one person’s heart and mind. Only the CREATOR can open the eyes of the blind. It probably was very lonely for Noah in his lifetime. However, that was not the important factor for him--being faithful was.

This gives an insight into how the world may be organized and how a super world government can and will be established on earth.

Why Supernatural Force

World leaders today are virtually unanimous in concluding that man’s only hope of being saved alive for even another generation lies in establishing an all-powerful super world government. Yet, all confess that nations are utterly unable to bring that concept about.

Clement Attlee, a former British Prime Minister, said: “The world needs the consummation of our conception of world organization through world law if civilization is to survive!” Again, he said, “We do not have a lot of time. There is too much dangerous stuff in the world, and there are too many fools about, trigger-happy idiots and the like.”

We could reproduce such quotes from world leaders, past and present, for the next hundred pages. Yes we all know that man is utterly helpless and unable to bring about such a solution.

Would the United States say to the leaders of other nations, “We are ready to relinquish all sovereignty over ourselves and place our great nation under the absolute rule of leaders from Russia, China, France, Egypt, and other countries?” Would the leaders in the Kremlin step down and relinquish all Communist sovereignty to a government headed by leaders from the United States and these other countries? No nation would willingly give control of themselves to another power.

In addition if men should undertake to establish a super New World Order government wielding all the military power over all nations, what form of government would it be? The men in the Kremlin would never step down in submission unless this NWO would be Russian Communism--and even then these men in the Kremlin would insist on having all the power. The Chinese communists would not submit to that either; they would demand that the NWO be their brand of Communism.

Most nations would never accept democracy as their form of government whereas the United States would accept nothing else if the people had a free will choice.

Could anything be more impossible than for this world’s nations to get together in a new world government of some form each willingly surrendering all its power and sovereignty to it?

No, and even when the Almighty SOVEREIGN, the CREATOR and Ruler over the entire cosmos, does supernaturally intervene to set up His world government--His perfect Government--the nations will be angry. The nations will fight. Men will say, “We don’t want ETERNAL to rule over us!”

That’s why King David is coming with all the power and glory of ETERNAL’s supernatural force. That is why he will rule with a rod from out of his mouth (Psalms 2:9). Man will never submit to the way of peace, prosperity, happiness, and abundant well being unless he is forced into it. How ironic is that?

Purposed Long Ago

The ETERNAL SOVEREIGN is working out a purpose here below which He carefully planned every move toward the accomplishment of that purpose.

His first promise of this happy state was made to Abraham. ETERNAL promised Abraham this whole earth as an everlasting inheritance for him and his children. The SOVEREIGN promised that through Abraham all nations of the earth would be blessed (Genesis 17:7-9; 18:18).

At the same time ETERNAL began insuring the efficiency and perfection of His world-ruling government by causing Abraham, Isaac, Israel and Joseph to be trained--during a lifetime--in several basic essentials for top personnel in a government of perfection.

First of all we must have the right attitude. That is essential. ETERNAL looks on the heart--the spirit--the attitude. That is where He looked in choosing David to be king over Israel (I Samuel 16:6-7, 11-12) and later to be King of kings. That is where He looks in you and in me as well. These men were trained in submission to ETERNAL and those over them in authority. They were trained in teamwork--harmoniously working together.

Secondly, they were trained in knowledge of the true values.

After that they were trained in handling people, in wise management of people, of wealth without letting it turn their heads. In the same way King David was trained and developed.

All who made immortal will occupy important executive offices in the SOVEREIGN’s coming world super government that passed their training in these essentials. All will finally realize not only the power but also the wisdom, the love, the righteousness, and perfection of the ETERNAL SOVEREIGN the Mighty One of Jacob. All know of a certainty that His Way is the right way--His Laws, the right and perfect Laws--His Rule and His Government, the perfect Government that will bring every blessing to those whom they govern.

In this manner the ETERNAL SOVEREIGN has prepared for His Kingdom. He began, long ago, selecting men of outstanding ability who would yield fully to Him, impressing into their innermost being those principles and characteristics that form the seven basic laws for success in life.

1) The right goal: all of them to be a part of the SOVEREIGN’s Kingdom--the goal that inspires motivation and stimulates the ambition to achieve that goal.

2) The right teaching or education: every one of these men was freed from the shackles of pagan teaching, tradition, erroneous knowledge, false sense of values, and pagan customs. Every one was trained in the SOVEREIGN’s Way based on His Law and the principles of that Law. They were trained in the way of righteousness. They became skilled in applying the principles of the SOVEREIGN’s Commandments, Laws, Statutes, and Judgments.

3) Good Health: they were trained in avoiding the causes of sickness, disease, and infirmities. They were trained in keeping their minds sharp, clear, alert, balanced, and sound.

4) Drive: every one was trained to constantly put a prod on self not only to accomplish more and strive harder, but to drive the self away from wrong desires, impulses, or temptations and into the right ways of the SOVEREIGN’s Law. They were trained to flee temptation. (They were all human. They all did sin--sometimes seriously--but they repented; they profited by mistakes; they overcame those things.)

5) Resourcefulness: these men learned through a lifetime. ETERNAL allowed multiple problems, hazards, and obstacles to confront them and through the determination of these men. They learned how to face up to and solve problems--not to be defeated by them.

6) Endurance: they kept their eyes constantly on the goal. When the going got so tough that even with their resourcefulness they could not think their way through--when it appeared they were completely defeated, when it appeared hopeless to try to carry on further, they did not give up--they never quit. They endured through thick and thin--they endured to the end. They endured by faith in the SOVEREIGN.

7) Righteousness: the guidance and the help of their SOVEREIGN along with these other traits these men relied on, they walked with Him; they talked to Him; they listened to Him--whether He spoke verbally and in person or through His Scriptures. They sought wisdom from ETERNAL. They relied on ETERNAL for guidance, for protection, and their for every need. But, most importantly they submitted to and obeyed Him.

Compare With Today’s Politicians.

Now--finally consider.

Take outstanding, superior men having undergone a human lifetime of this attitude, this training in the ways of success and perfection. Now change these men by awakening them from death in their graves into the perfection of immortality.

And consider that immortality will multiply their aptitudes, abilities and powers perhaps a million times above what they achieved as humans by infusing into them the power and splendor of the SOVEREIGN. That is what the SOVEREIGN is going to do.

Then there you have the chief executive personnel under the direction of the SOVEREIGN administering the new super world government.

Compare that to the scheming, compromising, selfishly motivated politicians that head most of the governments of this world today and other phases of civilization.

Feast your eyes for a while on the picture of the world of tomorrow which the SOVEREIGN’s Government will produce--as we shall now do--and when you take your eyes from this book and look again on this drab, ugly, sin-sick world of corruption, violence and suffering--it will make you sick at heart.

Does it not truly make you want to shout for joy to realize what a civilization--what a world--is actually coming?

Just a few general afterthoughts before we leave the subject of the personnel and organization of the coming Kingdom. It is one of the joys of anticipation to realize that we shall know where they shall be placed in the near future.

Someone may ask, “What about the women?” Yes, there were outstanding women--Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, Miriam, Deborah, and many others.

We would certainly suppose that women such as these would be given high positions and great honor in the Kingdom. Nevertheless, we do not presume in this present writing to suggest what it shall be.
